An unsettling incident struck the west coast of Tenerife, a beautiful island in the Canary Islands. In a harrowing event near Los Gigantes, four individuals were tragically swept into the ocean by a gigantic wave, resulting in their deaths. Additionally, one person remains unaccounted for, raising concerns among local authorities and visitors alike.

The calamity occurred just after 4 PM at one of the popular natural pools in Los Gigantes, located within the municipality of Santiago del Teide. At that hour, many tourists were enjoying the scenic area, both on the rocks and in the water, when an unexpected massive wave surged forward, dragging them into the depths.

Emergency services from the Canary Islands reported several individuals were caught in the powerful waters. Among those affected were foreign tourists, as noted by the local publication Diario de Avisos. A rescue helicopter managed to retrieve one individual alive, while another was found deceased. The authorities have confirmed that four individuals lost their lives in this tragic event.

Initially, two men and a woman were reported dead, one of the men aged 35 and the woman 55. A subsequent report revealed that another woman, who had been revived by emergency responders and flown to a hospital, sadly succumbed to her injuries. As of now, there is no confirmation about whether any Germans were among the casualties.
